Quote by Warren Wiersbe: “Truth without love is brutality, and love witho...”
Imagine that you are slightly less productive than your peers. If your boss chooses to be supportive, she can reveal that your performance is below expectations If your boss never really liked you and is tired of having "so many slackers" in her department, she can describe your performance in critical and pessimistic tones In both, your boss might explain her behavior by saying, "All I did was put the truth on the table. My example was pretty basic.
Everyone values honesty. We want the people around us and in our lives to employ this virtue as much as possible, and we also want to be honest with ourselves. Brutal honesty is a twisted honesty; it is a poor excuse to be cruel. Yes, it can be challenging and very unpleasant to speak the truth, but, most of the time, it can be done with thoughtfulness and tact. Brutal honesty holds no regard, no empathy for the person in which the words are intended.
Thankfully, I came across a quote that may save you from being an honest jerk. “ Honesty without tact is cruelty”. TBH, the first time I heard this.

Welcome to Reddit,
Teaching Honesty with Tact
Honesty is almost always the best policy. In fact, there are times when only your closest friends will be able to be brutally honest with you. Saying things about your sexual orientation, your race, your family, or things that are out of your control is mean — not honest. It may hurt, but if people are going out of their way to intervene, they care. A pretty good rule of thumb is that if you get the feeling that someone is trying to hurt your feelings, control you, or manipulate you, they are probably being mean.

This may come as a surprise sarcasm , but for me honesty really is the best policy. There is a time and place for honesty, trust me. However, one must be judicious. If you take honesty and run with it, you may end up being an honest jerk, instead of an honest peach See what I did there? Thankfully, I came across a quote that may save you from being an honest jerk. It became integral to my personality, part of my core set of values.
