SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP #34
Still, they might be able to unravel the mystery with the help of the two newest Birds of Prey team members: Daphne and Velma! Brigid Alverson, the editor of the Good Comics for Kids blog, has been reading comics since she was 4. She has an MFA in printmaking and has worked as a book editor and a newspaper reporter; now she is assistant to the mayor of Melrose, Massachusetts. Brigid is married to a physicist and has two daughters in college, which is why she writes so much. She was a judge for the Eisner Awards. Notify me of followup comments via e-mail.
It all makes for a fun series of crossovers. As such, the series has gone from the more obvious guest stars early on the Flintstones, Batman, Superman to more obscure ones. An entertaining story. As others have noted about this series, the Hanna-Barbera stories are often zanier than most of the DCU-based stories. One episode had Atom fighting the now-very-dated-looking Tyrannosaurus rex that appears here. I liked the scene with Matter-Eater Lad. In a story with Shaggy and Scooby, Tenzil Kem appearing was all but mandatory….
After a prelude where we get a cameo from Brother Power the Geek not really a monster or ghost, just a weird hippie , Daphne and Velma get called away to assist on a case in Gotham. They take Scooby, because why not? His version of her is competent and smart, and I like her interaction with the rest of the Birds including a surprise last-act cameo by Lady Blackhawk.

Scooby-Doo Team-Up (2013-) #34
Batgirl, Black Canary and their teammates call themselves "Birds of Prey," but they may become prey themselves when Gotham City's besieged by mythical birds. Still, they might be able to unravel the mystery with the help of the two newest Birds of Prey team members: Daphne and Velma! One of the benefits of a book like this is it potentially introduces younger fans to the rich history of the DCU. But it features properties they might not otherwise meet, as well as some of the more obscure characters from the DC library. Read Full Review. Birds of Prey fans should enjoy this one, and I was thrilled to see a favorite, but now sadly mostly forgotten, member of the team earn a cameo I just wish she could have stuck around awhile longer. Eventually the group determines the giant birds are nothing more than robots under the control of the Penguin and the Birds of Prey and a kung fu Daphne jump into action while Velma takes control of the villain's latest toy.
