Protection & Special Request Work with Oshun
I gave my offering to Oshun and then something bad happened
Oshun is the orisha of sweetness, love and everything that makes life worth living. She is the orisha of love, beauty, femininity and sensuality which leads many people to compare her to Venus or Aphrodite. Such a comparison is short-sighted, however, for Oshun is vast and powerful; she is actually the full breadth of womanhood. She makes her residence in the rivers of the world. Hers is the power of sweetness in life, and all of the things that make life worth living. She is often depicted as a beautiful mixed-race woman with long hair carrying a fan and a mirror reflecting her connections with beauty and femininity. She is very giving and protective of those who love and respect her, but she is also quick to turn sour against humanity when she is offended.
Illustration by Arielle Daughma. For those who have not yet had the privilege of knowing Oshun, the benevolent and venerated Yoruba goddess: May you one day experience the strength in her power, the beauty of her undying love, and the magical rhythm flowing through her sacred waters. This goddess is very much alive; her feminine essence resides in the rivers of the world and in the hearts of those who call upon her energy today and every day. Developed among the people of Nigeria and Benin, the Yoruba faith consists of ritual practices that include singing, dancing, spiritual possession, and healing ceremonies. The Yoruba faith has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandmother was a complete devotee of Shango, and my parents always had altars for the Orishas in different parts of our house. When I was 20 years old, I went to see a Babalawo high priest to receive my guardian Orisha.
May 25, The prayers offered to Oshun vary slightly depending on who you ask. Most of them, however, begin by praising her beauty and flattering her.

Tuesday, October 26, Offering for Oshun. I was recently asked about what kind of offering would I give if I was low on money. Here is my response below. I would recommend getting the pumpkin and skipping the candle if money is the issue.
Hey everyone! Pumpkins are very sacred to Oshun and represent abundance and prosperity. Now, there are several variations of this spell and the more you do magic, the more you will learn to trust your instinct and tailor the spell to your specific needs. This is how I perform this spell. Before any large ritual, I cleanse my space both physically and spiritually. You will need a clear and clean altar space on which to place the spell work in this case the pumpkin is a container spell and offerings.
Oshun or Ochun is the Orisha of love in the Yoruba religion. She is said to have been wed by Shango or Chango , the god of life, after attending a drum festival. Oshun influences the pleasurable aspects of life. Her powers regarding attraction and affection are extremely potent. She is essentially the Aphrodite of the Yoruba faith and is synchronized with Our Lady of Charity in western religions. It is said that Oshun possesses unparalleled beauty and affinity for enhancing emotion and pleasures of the flesh.
